Mention Reminder
Comparison

Teams Activity feed and Saved vs Mention Reminder

Teams Activity shows mentions and other notifications. Saved lets you keep important messages. These views help you find conversations; Mention Reminder keeps a separate list of mentions and brings it back on your schedule.

βš–οΈ The short answer

Activity and Saved are enough if you review them regularly and remember to reply. Add Mention Reminder if you open a message, put off answering and lose track of it.

What it is

What the Activity feed and Saved do

The Activity feed is where Teams collects notifications: mentions, replies, reactions and more. A filter narrows it to @mentions only, and an Unread button hides what you have already opened. Items stay in the feed for 30 days and then expire.

Saved is a separate list at the top of your chats and channels. You add a message to it from the message menu, and it stays there until you unsave it. Edits by the author show up in the saved copy; if the author deletes the message, a note says so.

If you are away from Teams, missed activity emails summarise what you missed, once an hour by default, at a frequency you can change. Everything here is built into Teams and costs nothing extra.

When it is enough

When the Activity feed is enough

  • You open Teams many times a day and answer mentions while they are still at the top of the feed.
  • You get few mentions, so the @mentions filter fits on one screen.
  • You want to keep messages for reference, not to be reminded about them.
When to add Mention Reminder

When to add Mention Reminder

  • You open a mention, mean to answer later, and the item quietly turns from unread to read.
  • Your Saved list has grown into an archive nobody looks at.
  • You want to be reminded at set hours instead of having to remember to check a list.
  • Your team also works in Slack or Discord and you want one inbox for every mention.
🀝 Using both

Using both

Keep the Activity feed for everything Teams tells you and Saved for messages you want to find again. Mention Reminder only adds the open @mentions, in your 1:1 chat with the bot, and drops each one when you reply in the thread or react to the message. Nothing in your feed or Saved list changes.

Questions

It shows the same mentions, but it does not know which ones you have answered. Opening an item marks it read, and after 30 days it is gone. Mention Reminder keeps a mention open until you reply in the thread or react to the message, however long that takes.

No. Saved is a list you open yourself, and a message stays there until you unsave it. Mention Reminder brings open mentions back at the hours you choose, so you do not have to remember to look.

Stop letting things vanish in the scroll

Add Mention Reminder to Slack, Teams or Discord - two minutes, once. After that it runs in the background and nobody on the team has to do anything else. Starter is free, no card.
