One admin installs the app. Everybody else keeps writing exactly as they did before.
Click "Add to Slack" and approve the scopes. There is nothing to run afterwards - no slash command, no setup wizard, no channel to create by hand.
The bot only ever sees channels it has been invited to. Start with the busy ones; you can add more later, and DMs between people are never scanned.
Mention Reminder adds a discreet 🔔 to the message so the channel can see it is being tracked - and nothing more. No public nagging, no "any update?" from a bot.

Tools that turn messages into tickets only work while everybody keeps turning messages into tickets. This one asks for nothing, because it reads what your team was writing anyway.
A reply to the message, or anything you post in its thread, closes it immediately - and closes it for the person who mentioned you too.
A 👍 or a ✅ on the original message counts as an answer. Sometimes that genuinely is the whole reply.
A short "ok" or "done" is recognised outright. On the Team plan, AI also spots a longer on-topic answer posted nearby rather than as a direct reply.
A mention whose message is gone cannot be answered, so its reminders close for everyone who got one - not just for whoever deleted it.
Nothing about how your team writes changes. The only difference is whether anyone still remembers the thread on Friday.

On the team's side the difference is zero: nobody installs anything, signs up, or clicks a button they did not already click.
Not "better communication" in the abstract - the specific places a mention goes quiet.
A question from a client that nobody picked up costs more than an internal one. Every shared channel the bot is invited to is watched the same way as your own.

I like how little work it took to start watching messages - and that the bell emoji shows at a glance which message is being watched, so you see right away that something needs a reply.
Slack shows you this list at install. It is short on purpose, and this is all of it.

To install the app, yes - Slack requires an admin or owner to approve the scopes, and the web panel only lets admins of a linked workspace in. Everyone else needs nothing at all: no signup, no login, no permission of their own.
Only the ones it has been invited to. Slack gives an app no way to see a channel it is not a member of, so inviting it is the whole access control - and removing it from a channel takes that channel back out of scope. Direct messages between people are never scanned.
