Slack lets you schedule reminders with /remind or from a message menu. That works well when you already know what to return to. Mention Reminder also helps with messages you overlook or read in a hurry without saving.

What Slack /remind does
Use /remind #channel to schedule a channel message. It can repeat on specified days, such as every Monday, but not every hour. Channel reminders cannot be edited; use /remind list to delete one and create it again.
For personal reminders, use options such as Remind me about this on a message or file. Slack is gradually replacing Later with To-dos from October 2026. In the new view a reminder belongs to a to-do with a due date, and you receive a notification in Activity when it is due.
A reminder set for a day without a time arrives at 9 a.m. in your timezone by default, which you can change in Preferences. It is part of Slack on every plan and needs no admin.

Use Slack’s personal reminders for selected follow-ups and /remind for scheduled channel messages. Mention Reminder separately tracks mentions in its Home tab and reminds you by DM. Your thread reply or reaction clears our reminder without changing the one you set in Slack.
It reminds the whole channel at once, publicly, including people who already answered. Mention Reminder reminds only the people who were mentioned and have not responded yet, each in private.
It still exists. Since the October 2026 change a message reminder becomes a to-do with a due date in the To-dos tab, and the notification arrives in Activity when it is due.
No. There are no slash commands. A Slack admin installs it once, and from then on mentioning a covered person is all it takes. Each person picks their reminder hours in the App Home tab.
