Mention Reminder
Discord & Slack are live ยท Teams warming up

"I'll reply in 5 minutes"โ€ฆ and silence

Every day someone on your team reads a request, gets pulled into something else - and the thread disappears in the scroll. Mention Reminder runs quietly in the background of your Discord and Slack: it watches the @mentions nobody answered and reminds the right person. No extra app, no new habits - set it up once and stop losing threads.

Same thread, two scenarios

Nothing about the way people write changes. The only thing that changes is whether anyone still remembers the thread.

Without Mention Reminder
  1. Thursday, 12:32

Alex: "@John can you handle the graphics for Friday?"

  2. Thursday, 12:33

John reads it mid-call and goes back to the call

  3. Friday

The thread is 40 messages further up. Silence.

  4. Monday

"Sorry, it slipped past me" - and a week is gone

โœ— 2-3 days of slippage on the project

With Mention Reminder
  1. Thursday, 12:32

Alex: "@John can you handle the graphics for Friday?"

  2. Thursday, 12:33

John reads it mid-call - Mention Reminder adds a ๐Ÿ””

  3. Thursday, 16:00

One private reminder, to John only

  4. Thursday, 16:04

John replies - the reminder clears itself

โœ“ Closed the same day

On the team's side the difference is zero: nobody installs, signs up for, or clicks anything.

Zero configuration

Value without a single extra thing to do

Most "better communication" tools only work while the team remembers to use them. Mention Reminder is the opposite: you switch it on once, and from then on it works by itself - right where your team already talks.

The result

Fewer "sorry, it slipped past me"

Shorter reply times and threads that no longer die between Thursday and Monday - without a single extra status meeting and without chasing people to check whether they saw it.

Testimonials

Teams that stopped losing threads

A few words from people who use Mention Reminder every day - in our own team and in the companies we work with.

The first week I kept waiting for the moment I would have to do something with it. That moment never came. It just quietly reminds me about the two threads I dropped, and closes them the second I reply.
Marta K.Product designer ยท Mention Reminder
We used to have a standing joke about the "@dev anyone?" messages nobody ever answered. It stopped being funny when a client noticed. Two weeks in, that whole category of message is gone.
Tomek W.Tech lead ยท software house, 40 people
What sold me was that nobody had to be told about it. I installed it on Monday, said nothing, and by Thursday people were replying faster. No training, no "please remember to tag it" post.
Ania R.Head of operations ยท creative agency
I was worried it would be another bot spamming the channel. It is the opposite - the only thing anyone else sees is a small ๐Ÿ””. My own reminders are in a thread nobody else can open.
Paweล‚ N.Backend developer ยท Mention Reminder
We run two Slack workspaces with clients and one Discord internally. One list of reminders for all three is the part I did not expect and now could not go back from.
Kasia L.Project manager ยท product studio
"Sorry, it slipped past me" was basically our team's catchphrase. I have not heard it in a month. That is the whole review.

How it works under the hood

Trust is more than a quote

Nice words are easy. Here's exactly how Mention Reminder treats your data, permissions, and your team's privacy.

Minimal permissions

The bot doesn't need admin. It reads the channels you point it at, manages the thread that holds your reminders, and adds reactions - that's it. Your server and workspace stay under your control.

Reminders only you see

Your reminders live in a private thread (Discord) or a DM from the bot (Slack) - nobody on the team sees them. The only public trace is a discreet ๐Ÿ”” on the message.

GDPR-compliant

We mostly store mention metadata, not your chat archive. Access, deletion, and export rights are one email away - no hidden catches.

Self-host on Enterprise

Enterprise runs on your own infrastructure with local LLMs - message content never leaves your company.

FAQ

Mention Reminder runs in the background of your Discord and Slack. When someone @mentions you and you don't reply, it adds a discreet ๐Ÿ”” reaction and reminds you about it on a rhythm you choose. When you reply, react, or acknowledge, the reminder clears itself. That's all it does: it plans nothing, assigns nothing to anyone, and asks for no extra work.

No. Mention Reminder creates no tasks, assigns nothing to anyone, and has no due dates, statuses, or board to keep up to date. It does one thing: it watches the messages nobody answered and reminds the person who was called out. All of it happens inside Discord or Slack - there is no second tool to copy things into.

No. One person installs it - a server or workspace admin. Everyone else does nothing: they keep writing where they always did, and reminders reach them in the same chat app. No extra app, no logging in, no training.

About two minutes, once: on Discord, add the bot to your server and grant the minimal permissions; on Slack, install the app - no command to run. You tune the settings (reminder hours, who the bot watches) one time in the web panel, and then you can forget about it.

No. On Discord, Mention Reminder needs a minimal set: read messages in channels it monitors, manage threads (where your private reminders live), and add reactions. On Slack, the app requests only standard, minimal scopes. Your server and workspace stay under your company's control.

A direct reply to the message, a short "ok" / "done" in the thread, an emoji reaction (๐Ÿ‘ โœ…), or a longer on-topic message in the channel - Mention Reminder recognizes these and the reminder clears itself. There is nothing to close or tick off by hand.

No. On Discord they live in a private thread only you can access; on Slack they arrive as a DM from the bot. The only public sign is a small ๐Ÿ”” reaction on the original message - so others know Mention Reminder is tracking it, not what it is reminding you about.

Mostly message metadata: channel, message ID, who was mentioned, timestamps, and your settings. We don't need to archive your entire chat history. AI features on the Team plan may briefly process message excerpts to classify @everyone / @role mentions. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

At the hours you pick - for example 09:00 and 17:00 - in your own timezone, and you can skip weekends. The hours you don't pick are quiet, so there is no separate quiet-hours setting to get wrong. Everyone chooses their own once; managers don't have to negotiate "when is it OK to ping". Starter delivers one reminder a day (the last hour you pick); Team delivers every hour you pick.

On the Team plan, an AI classifier decides whether a mass mention actually needs a personal response, and lets only those through. You can also disable @everyone / @role tracking entirely in settings. On the free Starter plan, only direct @user mentions are tracked.

One server, up to 10 people, reminders on your own rhythm, and full auto-clearing once you reply. No AI mention filtering and no linking multiple servers. Enough to try Mention Reminder with a small team before upgrading.

Team adds AI filtering for @everyone / @role, smarter detection of longer replies, unlimited people, and multi-server linking into one set of reminders. Priced per person on the server each month.

Yes, on the Team plan. Mentions from every linked Discord server land in one place, each item tagged with its source; linked Slack workspaces work the same way and recognize a person by their e-mail address. Someone who uses both platforms gets a single set of reminders once an admin links their two accounts in the panel - Discord gives bots no e-mail, so that one match is manual. Data between companies (workspaces) is fully isolated.

Mention Reminder monitors channels you configure (or all channels, depending on setup). On Slack, the bot only sees channels it has been invited to. DMs between users are not scanned; only channels the bot can read.

Kick the bot from your server or workspace - reminders stop immediately. For paid plans, cancel in the billing dashboard before the next renewal; you won't be charged again. Your configuration data is deleted within a reasonable period after closure.

Slack is already live - available on every plan, alongside Discord. Teams is in active development: use the waitlist form above and your account and pricing will carry over at launch, so you won't pay twice.

We process data under GDPR for EU customers; you can exercise access, deletion, and portability rights via privacy@mentionreminder.com. Enterprise includes self-hosting and local LLMs so message content never leaves your infrastructure.

Stop letting things vanish in the scroll

Add Mention Reminder to Discord or Slack - two minutes, once. After that it runs in the background and nobody on the team has to do anything else. Starter is free, no card.
