What it is

What Follow Up Bot does

Follow Up Bot (followupbot.io, also listed in the Slack Marketplace) tracks questions that @mention someone in the channels it has been added to. If the person you asked has not posted in the channel or replied in the thread, and nobody has reacted, within your timer, the bot privately asks you whether to send a reminder. You decide; if you say yes, the reminder goes to the person you asked, pointing at your original question.

Its Enterprise Connect plan adds a second, separate job: watching Slack Connect channels shared with customers and alerting your team in a private channel when a customer message goes unanswered past a response target, with business hours and optional escalation. The Slack Marketplace listing leads with this customer side.

It is Slack only. Pricing is a flat fee per workspace with a 7-day trial and no free plan: Premium at $118 a year for up to 10 members, Enterprise at $216 a year with unlimited members, and Enterprise Connect at $990 a year for the customer channels.

When it is enough

When Follow Up Bot is enough

  • Your team works only in Slack, and the person who asks is the one who should decide whether to chase.
  • You want a nudge about your own unanswered questions rather than a list of what others are waiting on from you.
  • Your real problem is customers waiting in Slack Connect channels, which its Enterprise Connect plan is built for.
When to add Mention Reminder

When to pick Mention Reminder

  • You do not want people spending their day chasing: the reminder should reach whoever owes the answer without anyone asking twice.
  • The person mentioned should be reminded privately, at their own hours, instead of by a nudge from a colleague.
  • Your team also uses Microsoft Teams or Discord, or several Slack workspaces, and wants one inbox per person.
  • You want to start free: Starter covers up to 5 people with no time limit.
🤝 Using both

Using both

They can run side by side in Slack, but they watch the same mentions from opposite ends, so running both on internal channels means two nudges for one question. A clean split is Follow Up Bot for Slack Connect customer channels and Mention Reminder for internal mentions: one guards your response targets to customers, the other keeps colleagues from losing each other's questions.

Add Mention Reminder to Slack, Teams or Discord - two minutes, once. After that it runs in the background and nobody on the team has to do anything else. Starter is free, no card.
