Mention Reminder maintains a private mention list and reminds people to reply. It has no helpdesk queues, SLAs or ticket reports. Use a support platform when you need those features.
ClearFeed vs Mention Reminder: tickets or mention reminders?
ClearFeed, Thena and Unthread help teams handle requests in chat. They create tickets, route work to support staff and measure response times. Mention Reminder helps with everyday @mentions by reminding the person mentioned that a reply is waiting.
Use a helpdesk when you need ticket queues, ownership, SLAs and reporting. Add Mention Reminder when you want colleagues to return to their own mentions without treating each question as a ticket.

What ClearFeed, Thena and Unthread do
ClearFeed is a helpdesk built on Slack. It tracks conversations across Slack, Microsoft Teams, email, live chat, Discord, Telegram and a customer portal, uses AI to spot requests in the channels it monitors, and turns them into tickets with SLA alerts, business hours and two-way sync with Zendesk, Jira, Freshdesk, Linear, Asana and others. Its use cases include customer Slack channels, IT and HR help desks and engineering escalations.
Thena and Unthread are in a similar category, with different scope and plans. Thena includes Slack and email, with Teams in Enterprise. Unthread offers conversation tracking, SLAs, assignments and ticket sync for support teams working in Slack or Teams.
Prices are aimed at the team handling requests: ClearFeed Helpdesk starts at $24 per agent/month; Thena at $29 per user/month, billed annually; Unthread at $75 per agent/month, with a five-seat minimum. Trials are available, with conditions depending on the plan.

When a helpdesk is the right tool
- Customers write to you in Slack Connect or Teams and you have response targets to meet.
- Requests need an owner, a status and a record, and some of them have to end up in Jira or Zendesk.
- A defined support team answers the questions, and only that team needs licences.
- You need reporting on response times and SLA breaches.
When Mention Reminder is the better fit
- The mentions that get lost are between colleagues, not from customers, and nobody wants a ticket for "can you check this?".
- Reminders should help selected colleagues without setting up a separate support queue.
- You want a simple rollout: an admin installs the bot and chooses people to receive reminders.
- The reminder should go to the person who owes the answer, at hours they picked, and clear itself when they reply.
Using both
A helpdesk can handle customer channels and internal IT or HR support, where ticket ownership and response targets matter. Mention Reminder can track everyday mentions elsewhere. Separate monitored channels to avoid duplicate alerts.
In a helpdesk a small team answers everyone else, so you pay for the people who answer. With internal mentions everybody answers someone, so Mention Reminder charges for each person who receives reminders. Starter is free for up to 5 people; Team is $3 a month per person billed quarterly or $2.50 billed annually.
ClearFeed can handle internal requests, such as IT or HR support. For everyday mentions between colleagues, decide whether you want to manage them as tickets. Mention Reminder gives selected people a private reminder list without a support queue.
